Billy Vela (he/him/his) is a doctoral student in the Educational Leadership (EDL) program at USC’s Rossier School of Education. Vela’s work focuses on cultural centers, cultural identity, leadership, and social consciousness development as well as community building, and fostering diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in higher education. He is passionate about inclusion, access, and holistic development of marginalized students, social justice and intersectionality.
