Postdoctoral Scholar for a Qualitative Study Leading College Transformation
The University of Southern California’s Pullias Center for Higher Education, one of the world’s leading research centers on higher education, is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to assist research on its Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded research project, Refining Resources in Leadership Teams for Institutional Transformation.
This position is responsible for research-practitioner partnership activities as part of a project to create tools for higher education leaders to execute transformational changes. The work involves knowledge of higher education leadership literature and equitable student success, qualitative research skills (interviews and focus groups), ability to create practitioner tools, and project management to create convening of leaders to test the tools and resources.

Postdoctoral Scholar for a Quantitative Mixed-methods Pilot Evaluation of a Universal Basic Income Program at a Community College
The University of Southern California’s Pullias Center for Higher Education at the Rossier School of Education, in collaboration with USC Sol Price Center for Social Innovation, is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to work on a research-practice partnership project of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). This position provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with practitioners at the LACCD to understand the impact of a Universal Basic Income (UBI) pilot program at one community college in the district.
Working in collaboration with the co-principal investigators of the project, the postdoctoral scholar will manage and analyze complex, longitudinal administrative datasets and draft presentations, reports, and policy briefs about the analyses. They will also assist with writing of grant proposals, support the translation of research findings for program improvement, as well as developing other relevant collaborations to expand the impact of the program, and its potential of scale up.
The postdoctoral position will begin in January 2022. It is a temporary, fixed-term, one-year position. The candidate should have a Ph.D. by the time of employment.
